The Department
Alfred Hospital’s Radiology Department is one of Melbourne’s leading tertiary teaching and trauma hospitals.

The Role
The Grade 4 Emergency Department Lead Radiographer is a leadership role working with General Supervisors, CT Supervisors and MRI Supervisors and at the direction of the Chief Radiographer. The successful candidate will be predominantly stationed in ED with the occasional rotation through Private Radiology lead and General Supervisor roles. There is a requirement to participate in after-hours shift and on call services due to the department’s 24-hour operation.
Your role would be to provide supervision and leadership across the Emergency and Truama Radiology services by:
- Facilitating daily operations
- Providing training, feedback and support to staff
- Communicating effectively and respectfully
- Promoting a culture of safety
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- Participating in quality improvement and change projects
- Participating in clinical work to provide the best possible radiographic examinations ensuring patient comfort, welfare and safety in accordance with departmental protocols, ethics and code of conduct
- Other duties as required by the Chief Radiographer
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiations or equivalent
- Eligibility for A.S.M.I.R.T. Statement of Compliance
- National Registration with AHPRA to practice as a Medical Imaging Technologist
- Victorian Department of Health Use Licence
- Evidence of CPD in line with registration requirements
- Excellent communication skills
