MS and Neuroimmunology (MSNI) Clinical Nurse Consultant

  • Strong communication, organisational skills and appreciation of multidisciplinary teamwork
  • Clinical knowledge regarding Neuroscience Nursing, Multiple Sclerosis, or Neuroimmunology is desirable
  • Clinical Nurse Consultant C ZA7/ZA8  
  • 0.8 to 1.0 FTE

The Department

The MS program involves clinical activities at the Alfred Health .The program is committed to excellence in the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with MS.

Position Summary

Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will lead our MSNI nursing team, supporting patients across Multiple Sclerosis, Neuroimmunology, and Neuro-ophthalmology services. This senior role will play a key part in service delivery, quality improvement, and the integration of cutting-edge research into clinical care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and mentoring the MS, Neuroimmunology and Neuro-ophthalmology nursing teams
  • Coordinating patient-centred care across specialist clinics and nurse-led services
  • Supporting brain health and self-management programs
  • Driving clinical governance, quality initiatives, and education
  • Collaborating on world-leading research, including MSBase and clinical trials
  • Overseeing clinical operations, service planning, and stakeholder engagement

Qualifications and Experience required

  • Holds a current registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse in Victoria
  • Advanced assessment skills and the demonstrated ability to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs: word, excel, access, email, outlook
  • Experience in review and development of policies and procedures
