About the Role

Applications are invited for the position of Locum Specialist in Spinal Neurosurgery (Fractional) at Alfred Health.

This position is a Fractional position, working up to 17.5 hours per week (negotiable) in theatre and clinics. There is a possibility of working on the Spine Trauma roster and working in outreach clinics at other hospitals.

The is a fixed term position backfilling long service leave between 16 June and 21 September 2025.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Our preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:

  • Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice
  • Fellow of the relevant college
  • Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Neurosurgery and Spine surgery
  • Meeting Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Neurosurgery and Spine surgery
  • Outstanding communication skills, including well-developed conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to liaise well with other staff at all levels
  • Demonstrated flexibility in problem solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/ other teams.
