2 x GRADE 1 OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY POSITIONS

  • Permanent and fixed term contract until Jan 2027 available
  • Full Time (80hrs per f/n) + monthly ADO
  • Occupational Therapist Grade 1 Classification (VE8-VF3)

Alfred Health - Occupational Therapy Services operates across The Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham Hospitals, with clinical services aligned to Alfred Health's strategic goals and operational performance targets.

The Occupational Therapy Service is committed to the provision of high-quality, evidence-based care, and strongly values professional development and clinical supervision. Clinical service provision is focused on inpatient acute, rehabilitation and aged care streams, for diverse patient populations including emergency, general medicine, surgical, orthopaedic, neurological, trauma, spinal, amputee and burns/plastics speciality units.

About the Role

We currently have two exciting opportunities for experienced Grade 1 Occupational Therapists to become a valued member of our welcoming and supportive team at Alfred Health. They will be responsible for the provision of Occupational Therapy Services within a designated clinical caseload, appropriate to their level of experience and competency. The successful applicants will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and provide high-quality Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to patients. This role offers a valuable and unique opportunity to gain clinical experience in a range of settings and clinical areas/settings and first-hand exposure to a patient's journey through the entire continuum of care. The Alfred Health Occupational Therapy rotations are across a range of clinical areas in:

  • Acute (general medicine, orthopaedics, neurotrauma, medical specialties, general surgery)
  • Subacute (neuro, spinal, acquired brain injury, aged care)
  • Community/home-based settings

At Alfred Health's Occupational Therapy Service, we offer regular clinical supervision and avenues for continuous professional development, ensuring a dynamic and fulfilling career path for our dedicated therapists. At Alfred Health, the Occupational Therapy service delivers a seven-day model of care and the incumbent in this role may be required to assist with weekend service provision on a periodic basis.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Grade 1 classification
  • B. App Sc (OT), B. Occupational Therapy, MOT prac or recognised equivalent 
  • Full Registration held with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (via AHPRA)
  • Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership)
  • Core clinical Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work well within a team environment and relate to medical, nursing and allied health staff, patients and families
  • Recent experience working in acute or subacute inpatient services (and/or relevant experience as a student) is desirable
