The Executive Assistant provides high level administrative and secretarial assistance to the Chair, Department of Surgery (Chair) who is also the Program Director for Surgical Services. The executive assistant will oversee administrative, managerial, financial and academic functions of these services. Additionally, the Executive Assistant may be required to provide administrative support to the Chair’s Deputy and other clinical and managerial staff, as well as undertake other reasonable duties as required by the Chair.
Outstanding inter-personal skills, experience in liaising and meeting with executives and other professionals of all levels, strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Strong organisational skills with a commitment to customer focus, attention to detail and problem-solving
Proven ability in a similar environment, preferably at an Executive level, where highly developed and mature organisational and prioritisation skills are required, as well as proficiency in a wide range of administrative support skills
Demonstrated integrity and a proven ability to maintain confidentiality
Typing speed approximately 70 wpm, including audio typing
A demonstrated ability to show initiative, improve systems and processes
Self-direction and ability to work independently
A strong team member, contributing strongly to achieve department goals
Excellent PC skills, proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
