The Department
The Alfred Health Cancer Program is responsible for the overall delivery of a comprehensive cancer service which includes a number of clinical areas and units including; Medical Oncology, Haematology, Bone Marrow Transplant, State-wide Haemophilia Service, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care and the Victorian Melanoma Service.
Alfred Health Radiation Oncology (AHRO), a unit of Alfred Cancer, provides a full range of general radiation oncology and radiation therapy services in addition to some specialised services with both state and national significance. Services include external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy and superficial modalities. The department is equipped with a modern fleet of linear accelerators with surface guided imaging, stereotactic capabilities and the ability to deliver VMAT, DIBH, EEBH and IGRT techniques. AHRO has sites located at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne (Alfred Radiation Oncology – ARO), at Latrobe Regional Hospital, Traralgon (Gippsland Radiation Oncology – GRO) and at Central Gippsland Health, Sale.
The Role
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager is a member of the nursing leadership team of Cancer Day Treatmetn who assists the Nurse Manager to operationalise the core values of the organisation, and plays a pivotal role in meeting broader organisational imperatives. This position is located at Alfred Radiation Oncology working closely with the radiation oncology team.
Together with the Nurse Manager, the Associate Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for managing clinical risk and implementing systems and processes to improve patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience Required
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, patient-centred nurses with chemotherapy skills to join our hardworking team. You will have:
- Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
- Minimum 4 years cancer experience
- Minimum 3 years as radiation oncology nurse
- Post Graduate qualifications in cancer nursing desirable
- Systemic anti-cancer therapy administration experience desirable
