The Department   

Alfred Health Endocrinology & Diabetes unit comprises a multidisciplinary team of Endocrinologists, Diabetes Nurse Educators, Pharmacists, Podiatrists, Psychologists and Dietitians who bring expertise and excellent, compassionate care to our patients. We provide patients with the best and most current treatments, methods, materials and equipment to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of service. We believe that patients come first. The Role  

The role is responsible for supporting the Director of Endocrinology and Diabetes and the Endocrinology and Diabetes Service Manager with all personal assistant administration functions, as well as those reasonably delegated by them. This is inclusive of electronic diary management, agenda and minute taking, event organisation, assistance with reporting as well as being the first point of contact for the Endocrine and Diabetes unit enquiries. This role will provide administrative support to the wider Endocrine and Diabetes unit, including Medical/Nursing Workforce rostering into Kronos, as well as supporting both roles with set-up for onboarding new staff and completing leave approvals as directed. This role is a key stakeholder for the entire Endocrine and Diabetes service, as well as the wider Alfred Specialty Medicine Program. 

Experience and Qualifications Required   

Essential

  • Post-School certificate in secretarial studies or equivalent 
  • Experience as personal assistant or secretarial duties 
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft 365 suite 
  • Have experience in working with a wider variety of stakeholders, internal and external to the direct working environment 
  • Have an interest in health and be willing to learn medical terminology   

Desirable

  • Diploma in Secretarial Skills or Business or Office Administration or equivalent 
  • Some experience at senior secretarial level preferred
