The Department

The Biomedical Engineering Department ensures that all biomedical equipment used for patient treatment in the Hospital network is functional, safe and conforms to Australian regulatory requirements. The Department also provides key Hospital personnel with advice on the optimum usage, purchasing and replacement of medical equipment.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified biomedical engineer to join the Biomedical Engineering team at Alfred Health. The Biomedical Engineering department is responsible for maintenance, servicing, development and management of medical devices in the Alfred Health hospital network. Duties include service and maintenance of specialised equipment.

We are seeking a motivated and conscientious person, capable of fitting in quickly to a progressive and professional team. Applicants must have a relevant engineering qualification; a good understanding of engineering principles; appropriate experience; well developed organisational skills; good written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Biomedical) or equivalent approved qualification or experience, eligible for membership of Engineers Australia.
