About us
Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH) is the Area Mental Health Service responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South-eastern area of Melbourne.
The newly integrated Adult and Older Adult Department combines the strengths of AMAH Adult Community Mental Health and Caulfield Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Services. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, person-centred support to adults and older adults through an expansive range of therapeutic, addiction, trauma-informed, and family violence services.
As part of our commitment to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health recommendations and the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, we’re expanding our offerings to ensure clients benefit from specialist expertise alongside access to innovative, broad-spectrum care options. This includes specialised pathways for substance use disorders, rehabilitation and recovery, physical and mental health integration, and trauma-focused services.
Our department focuses on integrated treatment, education, peer support, care planning, and navigation services, designed to support individuals through every stage of their recovery journey.

About you
Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009 or eligibility and willingness to participate in a registrar training program leading to endorsement.
Experience in the application of clinical psychology in a variety of mental health settings including community settings
Demonstrated skills and experience in working with clients with a personality disorder, including skills in the development of treatment and crisis plans. Knowledge and experience of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is required.
Master or doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
