Alfred Health

On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

About us

The DBT program is well established within AMAH as a specialist treatment for clients with Borderline Personality Disorder. With the expansion and growth of services for people with personality difficulty and complex trauma experiences in the near future, the DBT program will become embedded in a wider stepped care treatment program for trauma and personality disorders within the Alfred Community Psychiatry Team. The AMAH DBT program offers clients weekly individual DBT sessions and a weekly Skills Training group over a minimum of six months and up to a year. All members of the DBT team are part of the DBT Team Consultation group led by the DBT coordinator.

About the role

The DBT Co-ordinator will undertake a range of duties to ensure the efficient and effective running of the DBT program as well as providing direct clinical input – individual and group therapy into the program. The DBT Co-ordinator will be a member of the Complex Trauma and Personality Disorder Service and may be required to undertake broader duties/activities related to this service. Active participation in Psychology led activities such as professional development sessions & case presentations is expected.

About you

  • Master or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009
  • Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009 Australian Psychology Board Approved Supervisor status
  • Experience in DBT
  • Membership of the APS and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists is desirable
  • Be willing to undergo a Background Check
