The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

About Us
Ngamai Wilam is a newly built 12-bed residential eating disorder treatment facility in Armadale, opened in July 2025. Jointly funded by the Australian Federal Government and the Victorian Government, this specialist statewide service will be managed by Alfred Health.
Ngamai Wilam provides 24/7 trauma-informed, recovery-focused care for adults aged 18 and over in a gender-inclusive, home-like therapeutic environment. With a strong emphasis on family and chosen supports, our team is dedicated to person-centred care that promotes long-term recovery.
About the Role
As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will:
- Play a vital role in supporting individuals through their recovery journey in a residential setting.
- Provide person-centred, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care for people experiencing eating disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive risk and mental state assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with participants.
- Deliver evidence-informed interventions tailored to the unique needs of individuals with eating disorders.
- Work within the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act (2022) and other relevant legislation.
- Engage effectively with participants, families, chosen supports, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Be part of a supportive, team-focused environment that upholds dignity, choice, and self-determination.
About You
- Registered Nurse (AHPRA) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in eating disorders.
- Postgraduate qualifications in mental health nursing or currently working towards (desirable).
- Experience providing therapeutic care for individuals with eating disorders in hospital, community, or specialist settings (desirable).
- Experience working in residential settings (desirable).
- Australian working rights.
- Current Influenza vaccination.
- Current Victorian Driver License, Working with Children Check, and Background Check.
