About us

The Alfred HOPE - the Suicide Prevention team provide 3 months’ intensive outreach psycho-social support and brief interventions to individuals discharged from hospital post a suicide attempt or who have presented with serious suicidal ideation.

CATT provides assessment and crisis support for individuals experiencing mental health crises in the community. In addition, they facilitate early discharge from the in-patient units and provide care at home 365 days per year at home.

What you’ll be doing

The incumbent will work two days per week with the HOPE team and provide individuals and their identified family, carers and significant others with Single Session Family Therapy to help them manage their own distress and enable them to effectively support their family member. the other two days will be working with CATT.

About you

  • RPN - Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA, with tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing – post graduate diploma equivalent as a minimum; OR
  • OT - Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board via AHPRA, with post graduate qualifications in mental health; OR
  • SW - Approved Social Work degree with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience
  • Tertiary qualification or working towards a post graduate qualification in Family Therapy
  • Experience in delivering Single Session Family Therapy in psychiatric settings
  • Member of The Australian Association of Family Therapy
  • Australian working rights
  • 2025 Influenza vaccination
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
    Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
