Alfred Care Group is seeking an experienced and motivated pharmacist to join the Clinical Pharmacy team as a Casual Pharmacist.

The Pharmacy services operate across all Alfred Care Group sites and are well recognised nationally and internationally for innovative, patient-centred services, high-quality education and training, and impactful research
Clinical pharmacy services are aligned with the organisation’s clinical program structure. Clinical pharmacists are attached to medical units, working alongside medical, nursing and allied health teams to optimise medication outcomes for patients. This unit-based model underpins the excellence in patient care of our clinical pharmacy services. About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic pharmacists with experience in clinical pharmacy in a hospital setting to join our clinical pharmacy team on a casual basis. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best medication management outcomes for individual patients. You will contribute to improving medication management on a larger scale through contributing to practice-based research projects and service and practice improvement work. As Alfred Care Group is an academic health centre, you will supervise and mentor local and international students as well as intern pharmacists.
To be successful, you will have:
- Excellent clinical skills, knowledge, judgment and reasoning
- Experience in the provision of clinical pharmacy services in a hospital
- A patient-centred approach to care
- Excellent communication and time management skills with the ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work and deliver to deadlines
- Problem solving and risk assessment abilities and the ability to use initiative
- Availability to work at least one weekend or public holiday shift per month PLUS availability for a minimum of 1 week of on-site training mid-week (may be spread over a few weeks pending other work commitments)

Qualifications and Experience Required
Essential
- Registered pharmacist with AHPRA Pharmacy Board of Australia
- A minimum of 2 years hospital pharmacy experience post internship, with a demonstrated understanding of contemporary practice in hospital clinical pharmacy services, QuM and therapeutics.
Desirable
- Relevant clinical post-graduate qualification or equivalent and/or completion of a specialist qualification or completion or progression towards a PhD
- Completion of (or progression towards) an AdPha accredited Resident Training Program OR at least three years of experience in different areas of hospital pharmacy post registration
