The Role
Clinical quality registries (CQRs) provide an efficient way of collecting data that benefits patients, informs clinicians and measures the effectiveness and access to the health system. A CQR captures observational “whole of population” real-world data that can be risk adjusted and bench-marked in reports that measure a real-world perspective on disease management and patient outcomes. The Victorian Lung Cancer Registry (VLCR) is a CQR, housed within the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine (DEPM), Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University.
The VLCR team is looking for a research assistant to perform a range of research related activities in support and delivery of outcomes associated with the VLCR. This role will suit someone who is interested in developing broad research skills including data management, ethics submissions and other administrative tasks related to research operations. We are looking for someone who is a good communicator, has excellent attention to detail, enjoys multi-tasking and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
- A degree in a relevant area, from a recognised university with subsequent relevant work experience OR an equivalent combination of experience and training;
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills including capacity to communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization experience and an ability to effectively analyse information and produce clear, succinct reports and documents;
- Planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and set and meet deadlines;
- Demonstrated level of computer literacy and proficiency in the production of high-level work using software such as Microsoft Office applications and specified University software programs (STATA, “R”), with the capability and willingness to learn new packages as appropriate.
- Familiarity with navigating a REDCap database is desired
