About the Department
The Alfred Neuroimmunology clinic was initiated in July of 2021 and is the only service of this nature in Victoria. The objective of the service is to address the unmet needs of patients with rare autoimmune conditions of the central nervous sytem and complications from CAR (chimeric antigen)-T cell therapy for haematological malignancy, and cancer immunotherapy while building access to clinical trials in these rare disorders.
About the Role
The Neuro-Immunology unit is expanding and are now looking for a Specialist in Psychiatry (Fractional) to join the team as many patients with neuroimmunological conditions have co-existing psychiatric diagnosis or have psychiatric symptoms as part of their neuroimmunogical illness.
This position is for 7 hours per fortnight.
The multidisciplinary Neuroimmunology clinic is scheduled every Thursday afternoon at The Alfred.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Our preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:
- Be legally qualified practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Fellow of the RANZCP
- Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Psychiatry
- Meeting Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Psychiatry
- Outstanding communication skills, including well-developed conflict resolution skills
- Ability to liaise well with other staff at all levels
- Demonstrated flexibility in problem solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/ other teams.
