The Department
Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH) is the Area Mental Health Service responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.
The Position
This is an exciting fixed term position placed within the Navigations team that is responsible for the ongoing development and coordrination of two service initiatives which have been funded by The Department of Health and Human Services:
- The Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response is a psychosocial support model targeted to adult clients of the clinical mental health service system living with a severe mental illness and associated psychiatric disability
- The South Melbourne Community Capacity Building Initiative is an integrated tenancy and psychosocial support model in South Melbourne, with a priority focus on Park Towers
The Alfred partner with Star Health (Better Health Network) and Sacred Heart Mission to deliver on these projects and this position acts as the key liaison for the external and internal key stakeholders.
In addition to the coordination and governance of these two initiatives, the role of the Psychosocial Support Coordinator will actively pareticpate in any development of a partnershoip approach between AMAH and any NGO's in line with the Royal Commission.
Qualifications/Experience
Essential
- Current Registered Professional Registration (Occupational Therapy) through Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or eligibilty for memebership with the AASW.
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience.
- A current driver’s licence is required to undertake this role.
- Satisfactory Working with Children Check

- Previous leadership experience.
