The Role

An excellent opportunity exists for a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist with the enthusiasm and motivation to further develop their clinical skills within a large public hospital.

This 12-month position is designed for a new graduate of Nuclear Medicine Technology (RMIT University or equivalent) with the aim of successful transition from student to independent practitioner in a supportive environment.

Join a dedicated team of technologists and specialists providing nuclear medicine patient services as part of Alfred Health, the main provider of health services to inner southeast Melbourne and provider of specialist services across Victoria. You will be required to perform diagnostic (in-vitro and in-vivo) and therapeutic nuclear medicine patient procedures using unsealed sources of radioactivity.

The Department

The Department of Nuclear Medicine & PET offers a full range of diagnostic imaging and therapeutic services and is equipped with state-of-the-art PET, general SPECT/CT, cardiac imaging technology and a comprehensive radio-pharmacy laboratory.

The department is committed to training, education and research activities and provides a year-round in-house CPD program for technologists.

Capabilities and Qualifications

The successful applicant will demonstrate quality care, empathy and support for patients and their families from all cultural backgrounds, produce clinical work of high technical quality and be open and adaptive to workplace change. Their professional work ethic, focus on teamwork and effective communication skills are key qualities to perform this role.

Registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and a Radiation Use Licence issued by the Department of Health are required for this position.
