Alfred Health Allied Health Services comprises a number of allied health disciplines who provide patient centred care across all clinical programs that operate at Alfred Health. Allied health disciplines provide patient centred care that will aim to optimise physical, psychosocial, communication and cognitive functioning. To ensure that the allied health workforce is fit for purpose, a robust governance structure provides oversight of staff & student education, research, workforce innovation and quality & safety.
The ILC Mainstream Capacity Building Program funds the ‘Speak Team’ project for 3 years. It will build capability in the health workforce and improve processes to meet people with disabilities healthcare needs, particularly people with autism, intellectual disability or communication disability.
The Project Consultant will be responsible, under the direction of the Director of Allied Health for the implementation of the Vulnerable Persons Initiative at Alfred Health. The governance for this initiative will be via the Vulnerable Person Steering Committee and the Patients Comes First Strategy. The Project Consultant will use redesign principals to strengthen Alfred health’s capacity to identify and respond to all vulnerable patients and consumers.
Excellent project management and interpersonal skills are essential for this position, including negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal. An ability to display flexibility within work practice and to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team are also essential.
