Alfred Health is a health service for residents of Melbourne's inner south-eastern suburbs and is also a major provider of specialist services to Victorians across three main facilities: The Alfred Hospital, Caulfield Hospital and Sandringham Hospital. We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified individuals to come and join our team.
Therole of the AINis to provide support to the nursing teamin the delivery of safeand quality patient centred care. TheAINisrequiredtoworkunder the directionand supervision of a registered nurse at all times, within their level of educationand assessed competencies andalso under clearly defined role parameters. A unique experience of working across a wide range of general and specialty areas. These include; Vaccine Clinic, oncology, trauma, infectious diseases, respiratory, renal, neurology, emergency, cardiology, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery and burns
The main objectives of thisrole are:
Toparticipatein delegated care delivery relating to patient activities of daily living, ensuring that the personal needsandcomfort of patientsis maintained
To assist inproviding a safe patient environment and additional supervision ensuring patient safety is maintained
Toenhance patient recovery by assisting with patient bed positioning, transfers, ambulation and other care activities as outlined in the AIN specific duty list within the care environment
Within the confines of the AIN role, to provide general support to the Wards/Units, ensuring effective and efficient care delivery
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience of working in an acute hospital is desirable but not essential
Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Acute) or willingness to undertake additional units if required or equivalent training as part of a Bachelor of Nursing Degree
Basic computer skills
Rotating roster, with exposure to a wide variety of patient presentations
Easy public transport access and discounted staff car parking
