Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

The Department
The Alfred Health Cancer Program is responsible for the overall delivery of a comprehensive cancer service which includes a number of clinical areas and units including; Medical Oncology, Haematology, Bone Marrow Transplant, State-wide Haemophilia Service, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care and the Victorian Melanoma Service.
The PFMCC Treatment Hub provides systemic therapy for most adult solid tumours and blood cancers, as well as an apheresis and outpatient stem cell transplant service.
The PFMCC treatment hub accommodates:
- Dedicated systemic anti-cancer therapy chairs
- Bone Marrow biopsies
- Apheresis
- Cancer Clinical Trials
The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for registered nurses with chemotherapy experience to work in the Day Treatment Area in the new Paula Fox Melanoma and Caner Centre. If you have excellent communication skills, work well in a dynamic team and have cannulation and CVAD management skills, this is the job for you! Enjoy the normality of working Monday to Friday.
Qualifications and Experience Required
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, patient-centred nurses with chemotherapy skills to join our hardworking team. You will have:
- Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
- Haematology/Oncology experience within past 3 years
- Apheresis experience desirable
- Chemotherapy experience including ADAC credentialing and cannulation skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient care to a wide variety of patients
- Experience working to achieve positive patient outcomes within a team environment
