The Inpatient Unit team is comprised of dedicated and compassionate mental health clinicians and lived experience workers. The Role

The Social Work Team Leader is senior position to strengthen the social work team within inpatient services. With an expanding graduate program and social work leadership role, this position will support the Allied Health Manager in delivering supervision and support to the 2 SW graduate positions, 2 SW2 positions, and AHA to social work position. 

The role will include occasional weekend work. The Team Leader will provide backfill across the wards during staff absences to ensure continuity of patient care. This position will also provide advanced evidence based therapeutic interventions, group therapy, training and leadership for complex cases on the inpatient ward.

Teaching, education and implementation of research and quality improvement activities for the clinical specialty are also important components of the role. This position offers an opportunity to strengthen single session family therapy approaches.

The Social Work Team Leader will work within the Acute Inpatient Units undertaking 0.6EFT direct clinical role and 0.4EFT Leadership, Administrative, Strategic and Supervisory roles.

Requirements for the role

  • Eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Bachelor of Social Work or recognised equivalent
  • Relevant clinical experience with experience in social work within a mental health-based context
  • Relevant post graduate training in mental health (desirable)
  • Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
  • Australian working rights
  • 2025 Influenza vaccination
