The Department
This position is based at St Kilda Road Clinic and sits within the Adult Community Mental Health Service. This is a multidisciplinary Team including Consultant Psychiatrists, Registrars, Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Peer Workers and Clinical Psychologists.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to have a psychology-specific role within a busy and vibrant public mental health clinic. The position will function under the supervision and direction of the P3 Clinical Psychologist/s at St Kilda Road Clinic. The Clinical Psychologist will provide clinical psychology services to clients of the St Kilda Road Continuing Care Team, consultation to other clinical staff and may participate in the DBT and Psychological Interventions for Psychosis programs. Experience in DBT and/or experience delivering evidence-based interventions to people experiencing psychosis will be highly regarded, however training and supervision will be offered to the right candidate.
Active participation in Alfred Psychology Department & St Kilda Road Clinic activities such as professional
development sessions and case presentations is expected. The Alfred’s Psychology Department encourages
professional development, and through in-house and external training opportunities, and excellent supervision, you will have the opportunity to excel and be your best.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
- Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act
2009 or eligibility and willingness to participate in a registrar training program leading to endorsement. - Master or doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
