The Department

The Psychology Department provides services across Alfred Health; Acute and Subacute and Mental Health Services. The Psychology Department is committed to providing assessment and treatment which is evidence-based and patient focussed. The Psychology Department is innovative and staff support and wellbeing is a high priority. 

 

The Alfred Health Concussion clinic based at Caulfield Hospital and provides an assessment and management service for people presenting with concussion. This Multidisciplinary Clinic consists of a Neurologist, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech Pathologist and Psychologist. 

 

The Position Summary 

In this role, you will provide expert assessment and management of patients with concussion with a focus on mood, sleep and fatigue. You will also provide leadership in the development of a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach to achieve optimal patient care and outcomes and to minimise clinical risk.

 

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Neuropsychology or Clinical Psychology
  • Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
  • Endorsement as a Clinical Neuropsychologist or Clinical Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
  • Approved Psychology Board of Australia Supervisor
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience as a Clinical Neuropsychologist/Clinical Psychologist
  • Membership of the APS and the APS College of Clinical  Psychologists or Clinical Neuropsychologists (desirable)
