  • 2 x Permanent Part Time positions - 0.9 EFT (72 Hours per fortnight); 0.6 EFT (48 Hours per fortnight)

The Department

Caulfield Community Health Service (CCHS) is co-located on the Caulfield Hospital site, and provides a range of clinical and health promotion services for people of all ages who live, work or study within the local community. These multi-disciplinary services are provided in the centre, community, home or via telehealth. 

 

Position Summary

The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) will work within the Adult Health team and you will:

  • Collaborate with a range of health professionals to deliver & monitor services that enhance the client’s function and wellbeing. This will be under the guidance of an Allied Health professional which could include: Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists, Podiatrists, and Dietitians.
  • Monitor and report changes in the client’s function to the treating Allied Health professional.  
  • Provide education and set up of mobility devices, assistive technology and equipment for clients as prescribed by relevant Allied Health professionals.
  • Deliver individual and group services as directed by an Allied Health professional. This could include: supervising home exercise programs, set up of bathroom equipment, assisting clinicians with Hydrotherapy, and Blokes with Strokes communication group.
  • Document treatment in the client electronic medical records as directed by the supervising therapist in accordance with medico-legal documentation requirements.
  • Support the overall operation of the service and team through non-clinical duties.

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality, person-centred care within a multidisciplinary health setting
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills
  • Well-developed computer skills
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence
