The Department

Sandringham Hospital is a part of Alfred Health, including The Alfred and Caulfield Hospitals. Sandringham Emergency provides a 24 hour, 7 days a week service to the Bayside community for all emergencies or when a person becomes suddenly unwell or is injured.

We assess and manage over 40,000 patients a year on average, 30% of them children. Sandringham Emergency is equipped to see all paediatric and adult emergencies for assessment and stabilisation. Patients can be admitted to Sandringham Hospital or may be transferred to another hospital as required.

Our sensational inter-disciplinary team works together to provide timely, quality care.

The Role

As a clinical nurse, your practice will lead to excellence in emergency patient care. You understand the importance of establishing a relationship between the patient and yourself in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for your patients. You demonstrate the core nursing values of patient centred care, trust and respect in every interaction with patients, carers and colleagues. As a nurse you are accountable for establishing and evaluating the patient’s plan of care in partnership with the patient, their carers and other members of the health care team.

Skills/Qualifications Required 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patient-focused
  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
  • Professional manner
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Emergency Department experience preferred
  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia AHPRA
  • Hold the appropriate visa with working rights
