Department
WARD ACG: ACG is a secure unit which provides slow stream rehabilitation, and incorporates a 15 bed area specialising in the care of patients with delirium and /or dementia and associated behavioural issues.
Position Summary
The Activities/Lifestyle Coordinator works closely with the interdisciplinary team to provide a flexible and responsive service that works to meet each patients identified therapeutic goals. The overall objective of the position is to provide therapy support services to individuals and groups to improve their quality of life. The Activities Coordinator aims to provide meaningful activities for patients with cognitive impairments to reduce patient agitation and improve mood. Activities that are coordinated and delivered by the Activities Coordinator include;
- Daily exercise programs with an aim to improve function and mobility
- Communal dining and the provision of meal time support including meal set up and feeding assistance
- Other programs such as music therapy, diversional activities and socialisation programs for people with behavioural disturbances.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Acute) or willingness to undertake additional units
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting desirable but not essential
- Basic computer skills
