Alfred Health is seeking a Maternity Locum Visiting Medical Officer in Geriatric Medicine to commence on or about 3 July 2023 and for up to 12 months.
Alfred Health is the main provider of health services to people in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne and has a major role in the provision of specialist tertiary and quaternary services on a state-wide and national basis. The Health Service operates three outstanding facilities - The Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham - and provides undergraduate and postgraduate training in Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health, with strong links with Monash and Latrobe Universities and the University of Melbourne
An opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine to join the dynamic Health of Older Persons Department at Alfred Health. The successful applicant would potentially have responsibilities across the range of inpatient and outpatient services provided by the Home, Acute and Community Care (HACC) program at Alfred Health including:
- Aged Care Consultative Service
- Geriatric Evaluation and Management
- Better at Home
- Trauma/Orthogeriatric service
- Aged Care Assessment service (ACAS)
- Mobile Assessment and Treatment Service (MATS)
- Specialist clinics
- Transition Care
- Wonthaggi Hospital/ Bass Coast Health
The Health of Older Persons Department supervises Advanced Trainees in Geriatric Medicine and values a commitment to quality patient orientated care through collaboration and research.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Consultant Physicians in Geriatric Medicine (FRACP in Geriatric Medicine or equivalent) for this part-time maternity locum (0.6 FTE) position, commencing on or about 3 July 2023 (21 hours per week + on call). Applicants must be legally qualified practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, a Fellow of the relevant college and have demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Geriatric Medicine and meet Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Geriatric Medicine.
