The Department
Alfred Health Emergency (AHE) cares for the local communities of Southern and Bayside Melbourne as well as for the broader Victorian community due to a large number of state-wide clinical services. Care is delivered through our two campuses: The Alfred Eva and Les Erdi Emergency & Trauma Centre and Sandringham Hospital Emergency Department.
AHE has a strong, established interdisciplinary research program in collaboration with numerous departments within Alfred Health, at Monash University, and with multiple partners overseas. Our research activity is intrinsically linked with our clinical service, and with our extensive education and training program. Our team of investigators and staff collaborate both locally and abroad, with research spanning basic, translational, and clinical domains. The research is supported by a range of federal, state, philanthropic and industry sponsors.
Alfred Health Emergency maintains strong research outputs including the highest number of publications per annum for an Australasian Emergency Department.
The role
We are currently seeking an exceptionally organised Research Assistant to manage coordination of research activities for our department and to support the Head of Research.
The role will involve the establishment, improvement, and ongoing management of research administration systems and processes across the department. This will include (but not be limited to) internal and external reporting requirements, team and stakeholder communications, and facilitating linkages, and driving enabling functions that enhance our research productivity and output.
In addition, as a core element of the role, the AHE Research Assistant will participate in research activities appropriate to their qualifications and skills and will provide a broad range of administration activities that play a critical role in supporting the delivery of project outcomes. The appointee will be provided with excellent opportunities to build on their existing research skills and experience and accelerate their own research career.
We think this role would particularly suit a recent graduate from a Master of Public Health or equivalent – however, we’re very excited to accept applications from anyone who meets criteria!
