The Department

Caulfield Pain Management and Research Centre is an ambulatory service providing specialist assessment and treatment for adults with chronic non-cancer related pain. The Centre aims to assist patients to reduce the impact of persistent pain by optimising pain treatments, improving function and promoting self-management. This is achieved by expert assessment, patient education and access to a number of treatment modalities.


The Role

CPMRC is seeking an experienced Physiotherapist with certification as a Feldenkrais practitioner, to work with patients experiencing multifaceted and complex pain conditions. The role requires the right candidate to;

  • Provide comprehensive clinical assessment individually and as part of a multidisciplinary assessment,
  • Provide treatment and education through individual and group facilitated programs
  • Work within the multi-disciplinary team comprising of doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses and other team members to formulate care plans and deliver clinically appropriate treatment and therapy


Qualifications and Experience


  • A Bachelor d, Masters or Doctorate Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Physiotherapy, Pain Management or another relevant area e.g. Research
  • Current full registration with AHPRA
  • Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner (or currently undertaking studies to qualify as a Feldenkrais Practitioner)
  • Extensive clinical experience as a Physiotherapist with particular emphasis on the Feldenkrais approach
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams


  • Membership with the APA
  • Australian Feldenkrais Guild Member
  • Completion of postgraduate Physiotherapy courses
  • Experience in group work
  • Excellent supervisory and teaching skills
  • Experience in Bio behavioural Management of Chronic Pain
  • Evidence of Professional Development participation for Chronic Pain
