Join our research team who are leading a multicentre research project to increase antibiotic appropriateness in residential aged care facilities. The START Research Program - Stepped-wedge Trial to increase antibiotic Appropriateness in Residential aged care facilities and model Transmission of antimicrobial resistance is being conducted by the Department of Infectious Diseases Monash University and Alfred Health. This is a large, multicentre study to improve antibiotic appropriateness and minimise transmission of antimicrobial resistance in residential aged care facilities. This will be a landmark study funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) that has the potential to change practice and policy in antibiotic practices within nursing homes and help stop the rise in superbugs.
The position will work with the Clinical Trial Coordinator – The START Research Program and members of the research team to assist with data and/or specimen collection and, data management in residential aged care facilities. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a high level of communication skills, data collection and management skills, flexibility, organisation and the ability to work independently across a range of tasks. The incumbent will be part of a dynamic, capable and research group conducting research that aims to improve patient management and patient well-being, with direct clinical relevance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor degree in a health related area
Ability to work within a small team
Ability to work autonomously and be self-directed
Ability to meet deadlines and work in an efficient manner
Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, ACCESS)
A current Victorian Drivers license
Easy public transport access and discounted staff car parking
