Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.The Hospital Outreach Post (suicide attempt) Team (Hope) is an arm of the Consultation, Liaison & Emergency Psychiatry service (CLE) at The Alfred
We are seeking a senior clinician to work with our highly successful suicide prevention team (Hope) at The Alfred. The Hope team is part of the CL & Emergency Psychiatry service and provides 3 months intensive support for individuals who have presented post a suicide attempt or with serious suicidal ideation, planning and/or intent. The senior clinician is responsible for providing 1-3 brief therapeutic interventions as well as overseeing the care and monitoring the risks of clients who will be supported by a Psychosocial Support Worker. Clinical supervision, support and acting as Team Leader are all expectations of this role.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Approved Social Work/Psychology degree or qualification
Minimum 5 years post graduate experience including having worked within a mental health service
Other relevant tertiary qualification or working towards, in relevant areas such as drug and alcohol or psychosocial or therapeutic interventions, highly regarded
Be familiar with and adhere to relevant professional codes of ethics, the values of Alfred Health, and relevant legislation, in particular the Mental Health Act (2014) and the Guardianship & Administration Act (1986)
A current Victorian Driver’s License and Working with Children’s Card is essential
