Acquired Brain Injury Unit- Caulfield Hospital
12months - Fixed Term- Full time until December 2021
The Alfred Health’s Caulfield Hospital is seeking the services of an innovative, energetic and motivated social worker to join our interdisciplinary Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) team. This is an opportunity to join a busy, specialist unit that provides state-wide rehabilitation services for people with Acquired Brain Injuries. Alfred Health’s ABI Unit is committed to providing regular clinical supervision, opportunities for continued professional development and a positive and supportive team culture.
The Role:
Completing comprehensive psychosocial assessments, supporting patient/family centred care, rehabilitation and goal setting, crisis intervention, adjustment counselling, conflict resolution, therapy, case planning, family work, community liaison, networking and referral to external stakeholders and discharge planning.
Provide leadership, support and supervision to the Grade 2 Social Workers and contribute to the strategic and operational planning of the Social Work Department and the ABI unit. Contribute to quality improvement and research activities and provide staff and student supervision. Flexible working arrangements may be able to be accomodated in this role.
Skills:
A relevant post graduate qualification at Masters level or higher, or active completion or progression towards.
Minimum 7 years full time Social Work experience preferably in a health care setting
Essential:
Previous experience working with neurological conditions and working within a hospital setting.
Knowledge of NDIS, Aged Care services and TAC funding models
Knowledge of working within an Electronic medical record
