  • Fixed term - until June 2021 
  • Full-time : 80 hours per fortnight (part-time may be negotiable) 
  • RPN Grade 3 / Social Worker Grade 2 / Occupational Therapist Grade 2 

Alfred Health has been engaged to provide clinical care within the Department of Justice and Community Safety’s (DJCS) COVID-19 Accommodation Response (the Program) for returned international travellers and/or community members (residents). Alfred Health holds operational control at its sites, managing services within specified clinical settings.


The Hotel Support Service (HSS) team has been developed to help support the clinical leadership and operational workforce to provide safe clinical, infection prevention and wellness care to all residents in their care within the Program.


As the Mental Health Clinician you will work within the HSS team to provide mental health support to residents within the Program. In this role, you will report to the Alfred Mental Health HSS Team Leader/Psychiatry CATT Manager for clinical issues, and the Nurse Manager (HSS) for professional issues. As the Mental Health Clinician your practice will lead to excellence in supporting residents with mental health or alcohol and other drug issues within the Program.



  • Registration with the AHPRA with tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing – post graduate diploma equivalent as a minimum
  • Approved Social Work degree or qualification acceptable for eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Post-graduate studies in the relevant fields of psychiatry are highly desirable
  • Registration with the AHPRA with tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and post-graduate certificate equivalent in mental health as a minimum and eligibility for membership of the O.T. Australia, Victoria
  • Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience


  • Experience working within a CATT or other community mental health setting
  • Other relevant tertiary qualification or working towards, in relevant areas such as drug and alcohol or psychosocial or therapeutic interventions.
  • Current and satisfactory Working with Children Check
