The Department

The Project aims to deliver a shared Alfred/Monash Pathology service. It will consider the benefits and risks of this venture considering previous explorative work carried by the two health services as well as information gathered throughout the project development. The project will run in conjunction with broader pathology system reform being undertaken by the Department of Health. Underpinning this project is the establishment of an operating model for the shared service, including operational and clinical frameworks, quality and safety systems, corporate support services and a shared laboratory information system and various technology components. 

The Senior Digital Test Manager takes full responsibility for the project’s success. The role involves quality and test advocacy, resource planning & management, and resolution of issues that impede the testing effort. 

The role requires a Test professional that has extensive experience in the delivery of end-to-end programs, and projects. The Digital Test Manager has responsibility for providing program management, project management, and consulting to internal customers. The role is expected to be 85% hands-on Testing Management.

The Role

Senior Digital Test Manager is responsible for: 

  • Developing and implementing the test strategy and test plan 
  • Building up and leading the Testing resources to the success of project 
  • Defining the scope of testing within the context of each testing cycle 
  • Deploying and managing resources for testing 
  • Setting up and managing testing facilities, tools, practices and environments for large programs of work 
  • Applying the appropriate test measurements, metrics and reporting during the testing cycle 
  • Planning, deploying and managing the testing effort for any given project 
  • Ability to work and adapt to a Vendors testing framework as required 

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in program/project management, information technology management, Test Management, software development or a related discipline and/or relevant experience 
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience
  • Experience in Electronic Medical Record systems is highly desirable 
  • Demonstrated test management, test program and project management skills and extensive experience delivering test process implementation, reporting and evaluation of testing to ensure high quality deliverables 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary test team to deliver high quality, customer focused outcomes
  • Highly self-managing and able to set and work towards deadlines/milestones, including the ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight timeframes, to ensure outcomes are achieved 
  • Demonstrated staff performance management experience including building and maintaining high performance test teams, and the ability to foster a culture of learning
  • Demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication skills, particularly in reporting and public presentation, and the ability to communicate with relevant internal and external stakeholders
