The Department

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Clinical Trials Network (ANZCA CTN), Central Clinical School, Monash University. The ANZCA CTN is a world leader in providing high quality clinical trial evidence to improve the safety and patient care and outcomes in pain, perioperative and anaesthesia medicine. This is achieved through the development and coordination of large multicentre randomised controlled trials in patients undergoing surgery.

 

The Role

The LOLIPOP Project Manager utilises specialist knowledge to oversee and deliver high-quality research services to support the operations of the LOLIPOP trial. The Project Manager performs and oversees a range of significant and complex research activities that play a critical role in supporting the achievement of the trial’s outcomes. This includes managing, overseeing and undertaking tasks such as; data capture and management, developing research protocols and procedures, providing expert advice and training, operational planning, writing complex procedures and guidelines development.

 

The Project Manager provides leadership to the trial in the delivery of high-level and professional research services and effective achievement of the trial’s priorities and provides expert advice at both strategic and operational levels.

 

The Project Manager also works as part of the ANZCA CTN team supporting peers and working collaboratively with site investigators and research coordinators.

 

Skills 

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to speak concisely and in a friendly manner with research coordinators, site investigators and other members of the research team.
  • Previous research experience in clinical trials
  • A background in perioperative or critical care nursing
  • Excellent planning, organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • The ability to work independently and in a small team environment, and remotely with the trial principal investigator and trial coordinator, and site investigators and research coordinators.
