Part Time - 48 hours / fortnight
Based at The Alfred Hospital
Alfred Health, Mental and Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.
The single most important goal of Alfred Mental and Addiction Health is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.
The art therapist provides a client centred art therapy program that enhances the well being and recovery of patients admitted to the acute psychiatric inpatient wards. You will contribute to a multidisciplinary team in the development and delivery of therapeutic groups and individual care plans.
You will have a high level of interpersonal skills, experience in mental health assessment, treatment and recovery and knowledge of public mental health service systems.
Must have an MA in art therapy and professional membership with ANZACATA.
Demonstrated skill in principles and practice of art therapy for people with mental illness.
Experience in the development and implementation of group art therapy programs
Highly developed communication skills
Demonstrated person-centred therapy skills
Experience in contributing to a multidisciplinary clinical team
