The Department

Ward 4WB is an Acute Medical/Surgical ward that specialises in caring for patients with a range of acute and chronic conditions. It is a fast paced, dynamic environment with a diverse and complex patient group. Our passionate and highly skilled multi-disciplinary team work together to achieve excellence in quality patient care.

The Role

The Ward Clerk position is part of the 4WB team who engages with patients, families, the multidisciplinary team & other departments as part of their daily role. The Ward Clerk is responsible for maintaining up to date patient data throughout their admission & works closely with the Nurse Manager & Resource Nurse to provide prompt management of admissions, discharges & transfers of patients.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Has previous experience within a healthcare setting
  • Has high level of expertise in Microsoft Office packages & previous IT knowledge of hospital systems
  • Has advanced communication skills
  • Can work as part of a complex team & independently within their scope of practice
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Previous consumer engagement experience
