Permanent Position 

Full Time at 80 hours per fortnight (plus ADO)

Grade 3 Speech Pathologist Classification (VW6-VW9) 

Salary range between $102,091.60 - $116,646.40

Based at Caulfield Hospital 

 

The Department 

The Alfred Health Speech Pathology Department is a co-ordinated service across all of Alfred Health which includes The Alfred Hospital; Caulfield Hospital; and Sandringham Hospital. This position is based in the Aged Care Unit at Caulfield Hospital.

 

The Position Summary 

To provide high quality assessment and management patients within Caulfield Hospital, primarily within the Better at Home program but with the ability to include the Health of Older Persons and Rehabiliation units as required. You will foster excellence in the Speech Pathology Service by providing leadership and facilitating the clinical and professional skills of Speech Pathology staff and students. The Grade 3 Speech Pathologist will assist in and promote the overall functioning of the Speech Pathology Department by working with the Manager, Speech Pathology, as well as contribute to and assist in the co-ordination of research and quality improvement activities.

 

Skills and Qualifications Required 

  • A recognised degree in Speech Pathology
  • Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Post graduate qualifications in a relevant clinical area or working towards this
  • Minimum of 7 years experience – mostly served in a hospital setting
  • Specialist skills in management of aged care patients
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high level teaching, training and supervision to staff and students
  • Evidence of previous involvement in development and implementation of quality improvement activities
