  • Senior Supervisory Pharmacy Technician - Outpatients
  • Annual Salary: $81,604.70 (Grade 4 TH14 + 17%)
  • Full-time- 80 hours per fortnight plus ADO
  • Permanent position; Sponsorship is available
  • Location - The Alfred

 

THE DEPARTMENT

The Pharmacy services operate over 4 sites within Alfred Health and involve in training interns, undergraduate and overseas research students. Pharmacists are essential members of all clinical and operational teams and have a critical role in patient management. Their understanding of Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Medicine Management ensures Alfred Health patients receive the best pharmacy care possible. THE POSITION

  • Manage the outpatient dispensary operations and completion of necessary duties in collaboration with Senior Pharmacist.
  • Optimise outpatient pharmacy dispensary services, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures adhering to good practise guidelines.
  • Ensure staff rotating in to the outpatient dispensaries receive a high standard of training and are assessed appropriately.
  • Be actively involved in appraisal and continuing professional development of self and others.
  • Develop, with other senior staff, the roles of the pharmacy technician in line with departmental requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external pharmacy service users when necessary.
  • Develop and contribute to performance management standards and review services and service delivery according to Alfred Health objectives.

  • A proven ability to manage staff, change and service development
  • Excellent communication and time management skills with the ability to prioritise, plan, organise and deliver to deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to liaise with individuals from other departments including medical, nursing and administrative staff

 

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • Must have satisfactorily completed (or be eligible to complete) Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Management experience essential
  • Management qualifications desirable
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a qualified Pharmacy Technician
  • Knowledge of PBS claiming, HSD and Special Access schemes
