Department
The Alfred Specialty Medicine Program incorporates the Departments of Renal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Dermatology, and Rheumatology. The Department of Renal Medicine is responsible for inpatient and outpatient care of people with Renal impairment (acute Renal insufficiency and chronic kidney disease). This includes medical and surgical ward services, pre-dialysis assessment, and Renal replacement therapies. The department offers haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis programs with an evolving emphasis on home-based therapies. The department also provides a comprehensive kidney transplantation service (live donor and deceased donor).
Position Summary
Performing a range of administrative tasks associated with responding to queries, upholding office environments & operations, and providing support to all relevant administrative functions.
Key Relationships:
• Internal: Liaise with patients, medical staff and nursing staff and other hospital departments and staff as required under the direction of the Director, Renal Medicine.
• External: Maintain dialogue with any external patient/person/organisation who has a relationship with Alfred Health.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Essential:
- Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel (foundational), MS Teams, MS OneNote (foundational), MS SharePoint), database management and its online environments.
- Previous skills and experience in administration (in a health setting is highly desirable).
- Foundational knowledge of Cerner programs and IPM.
Desirable:
- An interest in the health industry and familiarity with medical terminology.
- Understanding and experience in Medicare billing processes.
