DEPARTMENT:
Alfred Health provides a comprehensive range of Cardiology, Cardiothoracic and Cardiac Heart Failure services to patients with Melbourne and regional Victoria. The Alfred Cath labs provide care for patients requiring complex Angiography, Pacemaker/Defibrillator insertion, Electrophysiology, Cardiac Biopsy and Right Heart Catheterization, The Alfred Cath lab also has a large rapidly growing Structural Heart Program including TAVI, Mitra Clip, Paravalvular leak repairs, ASD and VSD repairs as well as Balloon Valvuloplasty.
The Cardiac Day Procedure Unit supports the Cath Lab by providing pre and post operative care for day case, and overnight short stay, elective cardiac patients. It operates Monday to Saturday including a mixture of AM/PM & Night duty.
POSITION:
The Associate Nurse Manager is a member of the nursing leadership team on 3 Day procedure Unit who assists the Nurse Manager/ Nurse Unit Manager to operationalise the core values of the organisation, and plays a pivotal role in meeting broader organisational imperatives. This role supports excellence in clinical practice and promotes the development of nurses, ensuring the philosophy of nursing and standards of practice are consistently reflected in professional practice and patient care. Together with the Nurse Manager, the Associate Nurse Manager is responsible for managing clinical risk and implementing systems and processes to improve patient outcomes. The Associate Nurse Manager/ Associate Nurse Unit Manager facilitates timely patient access and flow across the continuum of care.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
- Relevant post-graduate diploma or working toward same.
- Recent experience in cardiac or critical care essential.
- Willingness to lead improvements that lead to high-quality patient outcomes
- Excellent people and communication skills and organization and time management skills
