The Department 

Alfred ICU is a university attached quaternary referral centre, providing State Service for heart and lung transplantation (including paediatric lung transplantation), artificial heart technology, extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), burns and hyperbaric medicine. It also provides Victoria’s Adult Cystic Fibrosis and Pulmonary Hypertension Services. Internationally renowned, The Alfred ICU provides specialist career pathways and endless career opportunities. The Intensive Care Unit is a state-of-the-art facility with 68 beds, admitting more than 3,500 patients a year 

The Role 

The Ward Clerk Team Leader in ICU will provide administrative support to the ICU nursing management team and recruitment of nursing staff. In this role, the Ward Clerk Team Leader will be actively involved in the development of support and supervision of the Ward Clerk team. They will continually review and implement the administrative processes within the department 

We are seeking a proactive, organised and approachable leader who can build strong relationships, support staff development and drive excellence in administrative services.  

The successful applicant will be adaptable, detail-oriented and confident in leading change.  

 Experience and Qualifications Required 

Essential 

• Demonstrated computer literacy including Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Teams and Email), iPM & Cerner.  

• Experience in a health care setting.  

• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical practice.  

• Recent experience as a Ward Clerk.  

Desirable 

Previous experience in supervising and/or training staff
