Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory, to inpatient and home and community based services.
The Alfred Health Cancer Program is responsible for the overall delivery of a comprehensive cancer service which includes a number of clinical areas and units including; Medical Oncology, Haematology, Bone Marrow Transplant, State-wide Hemophilia Service, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care and the Victorian Melanoma Service. The Alfred Health Clinical Haematology service offers a multidisciplinary setting for the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of the entire range of haematological diseases. A comprehensive therapeutic and donor apheresis service is provided for both inpatients and day patients. Procedures performed include plasmapheresis, plateletpheresis, leucopheresis, granulocyte collection, and peripheral blood stem cell collection. Additional services accomodated in South Block include, the Haematology/Oncology Centre providing systemic therapy for most adult solid tumours and blood cancers, as well as an outpatient stem cell transplant service inclusive of a bone marrow biopsy service.
The Associate Nurse Manager is a pivotal member of the nursing leadership team, who assists the Nurse Manager to operationalise the core values of Alfred Health and Alfred Cancer. This role supports excellence in clinical practice and promotes the development of nurses, ensuring standards of care are consistently reflected in professional practice and patient care. The Cellular Therapies ANUM will be an essential driver in the establishment of a CAR-T cell therapy nursing service and management program as well as overseeing the Apheresis and Bone Marrow Biopsy services.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Unrestricted registration as a Nurse, with AHPRA.
Apheresis & CAR-T nursing experience
Cancer Nursing and Bone Marrow Biopsy experience desireable
Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Minimum of 3 years recent acute nursing experience
