Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical officers for a 12-month full-time appointment in 2022 as a Movement Disorder and Neurophysiology Fellow.

Movement Disorders (0.5 EFT)

This role will be working with Dr Kelly Bertram and the Alfred Movement Disorders team.

The role includes attending the Movement disorders clinics, learning in-patient management, botulinum toxin treatment strategies and skills, DBS and other advanced therapies for Parkinson's disease. Your contribution to Unit research will also include participation in commercial clinical trials and assistance in Investigator lead studies, as well as involvement in the HREC process and independent research activities supervised by the unit.

Neuromuscular Diseases (0.5 EFT)

The Neuromuscular role includes two supervised EMG sessions per week, attendance every alternate week at the Neuromuscular Clinic (Caulfield hospital) and partaking in the development of the intraoperative spinal monitoring service (IOM) at the Alfred Hospital. There are also opportunities to assess ward neuromuscular consults, perform and interpret evoked potential testing, and quantitative sensory testing. The fellow can participate in weekly EMG teaching and monthly neuropathology meetings. We actively encourage involvement in the research activities of the department.
