Respiratory Medicine

Respiratory Medicine has a unique and comprehensive spectrum of expertise in Australia across clinical and basic allergy and advanced adult lung diseases, including severe asthma, emphysema, interstitial lung diseases, sleep apnoea, cystic fibrosis and lung transplantation.

Respiratory Medicine four Clinical Services, supported by the Bronchoscopy Service and the Physiology Service (including the Lung Function Laboratory).

1.    Lung Transplantation (Medical) Service

2.    Cystic Fibrosis Service

3.    General Respiratory & Sleep Medicine Service

4.    Allergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology Service

The Role

The Personal Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to the Professor Director of Respiratory.  The position is the initial contact for enquiries, diary management, meeting coordination, assisting, and performing other duties as directed.

Skills 

·       Relevant experience at executive level with a proven ability to provide a broad range of administrative support together with advanced knowledge, experience and accuracy in all facets of Microsoft Office and proficiency in sourcing information through internet search engines.

·       Ability to initiate, develop and maintain administrative and office systems and procedures.

·       Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with senior staff and community members and act with discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.

·       Demonstrated initiative and the ability to determine work load priorities and meet tight deadlines with minimal guidance and supervision.

·       Ability to undertake investigations and prepare and update routine documents and databases.
