About The Team
Admissions and Perioperative Unit (APU) caters for short to medium (length of stay) elective and emergency admissions from a variety of surgical specialties. It is a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a diverse patient group. With its adjacent day admission area, APU also caters for patients requiring day procedures as well as facilitating the perioperative stages of long stay patients for other wards.
About The Role
As a clinical nurse, your practice will lead to excellence in patient care. You understand the importance of establishing a relationship between the patient and yourself in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for your patients. You demonstrate the core nursing values of patient centred care, trust and respect in every interaction with patients, carers and colleagues. You are accountable for establishing and evaluating the patient’s plan of care in partnership with the patient, their carers and other members of the health care team.
About you
- Registered as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly reliable and maintains professional conduct
- Highly motivated and willing to learn
- Passion for specialty medicine
