About the role

Ward 3 East is a 28-bed acute cardiac ward which forms part of the Comprehensive Cardiovascular Service. 3 East specialises in the management of patients with a variety of presentations including Acute Coronary Syndrome, Arrhythmias, Heart Failure, Left Ventricular Assist Devices, Inotropes and patients post Cardiothoracic Surgery. 3 East is a fast-paced unit that works in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary way to facilitate timely delivery of quality care to both our elective and emergency patient cohorts.

 

The Clinical Nurse Manager will have a strong clinical focus on cardiac nursing and be a recognised resource for all staff to assist in achieving best practice to provide positive patient outcomes. The Clinical Nurse Manager will have the capacity to lead change and influence a working culture to achieve a higher standard of person-centred care.  Working with the Nurse Manager, the Clinical Nurse Manager will operationalize the core values of Nursing at Alfred Health by ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.

The Clinical Nurse Manager is a leader who actively contributes to meeting key organisational imperatives and changing demands in managing patient demands and the achievement of key performance indicators.

Skills & Experience

 

  • Current Registered Nurse Division 1 registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria
  • Degree in healthcare or business management or working toward same
  • Recent extensive acute cardiac clinical nursing background in a relevant health service
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills including:
    • Ability to lead and manage change
    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Ability to motivate individuals and groups to achieve shared goals
    • Demonstrated ability to work with people to problem solve in a solution focused manner
    • Ability to work effectively and provide support to nursing staff, senior medical staff, a range of other health professionals and support service staff
  • Demonstrated application of Alfred Health Nursing Values into daily practice
  • An understanding and willingness to embrace information technology
