The Department
The Alfred Health Radiation Oncology (AHRO) Department is a unit of a comprehensive cancer service provided by Alfred Health. The department is comprised of two units, Alfred Radiation Oncology (ARO) located in the South Block at The Alfred and Gippsland Radiation Oncology (GRO), located at Latrobe Regional Hospital. Together the two units provide the full range of radiation oncology and radiation therapy services (with the exception of paediatrics) in addition to some specialized services with both state and national significance.
The Role
The Deputy Operations Manager Radiation Oncology assists the Director of Radiation Oncology and Operations Manager in the operational management of Radiation Oncology Services at Alfred Health with a particular focus on operational site management at GRO and financial reporting. The position is primarily based at GRO however travel between the two sites may be required.
The Deputy Operations Manager supports the Operations Manager in service delivery, development, financial management, promotion of the service, quality and patient safety and infrastructure management and planning.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Essential
- A health service management or business management qualification
- Knowledge of contemporary issues in health
- Strong experience in financial management including financial monitoring, budgeting and forecasting
- Previous experience in staff management
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership and management experience
Desirable
- Previous experience in management within a Radiation Oncology Service
- Knowledge and experience in procurement, tender and infrastructure planning processes
