On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

About the Role
Senior Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in medication delivery at Alfred Health to ensure patients' medications are available in a safe and timely manner. The Alfred Health Senior Pharmacy Technician role has several key rotations to support the ongoing needs of the Pharmacy Department. Our Senior Pharmacy Technicians rotate across all areas of the department, including:
- Aseptic services
- Procurement and Distribution services
- Inpatient and outpatient services
- Ward Based and Medication Management services
Our Senior Pharmacy technicians are also involved in expanded scope of practice initiatives, such as the ‘Tech Check Tech’ credentialling. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams and the operational services to achieve the best medication management outcomes for our patients. You will contribute to improving medication management on a larger scale through contributing to research projects and service & process improvement work as required. As Alfred Health is an academic health centre, you will supervise and mentor local and international students as well as other pharmacy staff.

- Excellent communication, time management skills with the ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work and deliver to deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications & Experience required
- Certificate III or IV in Hospital-Health Services Pharmacy Support or equivalent (for example an equivalent certificate in Community Pharmacy Services or a Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Pharmaceutical Science or similar)
- Minimum of two years experience as a qualified Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or community pharmacy setting
- Experience supervising or training staff desirable
