The Department

Respiratory Medicine at The Alfred provides specialist consultative services throughout the breadth of respiratory medicine and allergic diseases and includes four clinical Services, Lung Transplantation, Cystic Fibrosis, General Respiratory & Sleep Medicine and Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology.  These services are supported by our Physiology Service and Sleep Laboratory.

The Role

The Asthma, Allergy & Clinical Immunology Service requires a full time clinic and research nurse. This position is to undertake a primary role in the clinical aspects of designated research trials as directed by the Director Respiratory Medicine. To act as a key person responsible for subject recruitment, subject trial visits,  trials medication dispensing, subject monitoring, maintaining trial records according to the trial protocol, trial data entry and basic ethics administration.

To provide clinical assistance to Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology Clinics.  Duties include skin prick testing of patients, basic spirometry, advice and counselling to patients.  Any other duties as requested by the Director or Head of Service.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current practising certificate
  • Minimum 5 years acute nursing experience
  • Experience in Allergy/Respiratory Medicine and research desirable
